"Street lights often have such a harsh glare that they cause a safety hazard, especially with elderly drivers who have cataracts or poor vision," Jacobson said.
"People are becoming more aware of the issue these days," Jacobson said. "There's a bill before the Massachusetts legislature that would require that any street lights paid for with public funds to be full cut-off. It's definitely an issue that a lot of people would like to see addressed."

Just what Soap Lake needs. They don't have any money to operate the street lights but they will have a $100 million to operate the 50 mile beacon. How sweet. Soap Lake really should tackle this project. Blake and Glassco promised the good Mayor to save Soap Lake from becoming a Ghost town. Sounds like this project will help Soap Lake in becoming a Ghost town faster then without the 50 mile beacon. How much will the admission be? $100 bucks? That is sure to attract millions of tourists to fork over $100 to go up the Lamp for a little love.
