I was watching the A&E, and they had a promo on for the "Mayor of Casterbridge", which will be on tonight at both 8pm and again at midnight along with repeated showings throughout the following week. ( I love A&E for making things so easy for us DRS impaired folk.) According to the promo, the movie seems to have gotten many good reviews. TV Guide's Hit or Misses section gave it a 9 out of 10. This doesn't surprise me since, I personally think Ciaran is great in the other work I've seen him do.

My only hesitation is that Thomas Hardy novels always seem to end on a depressing note. No, not a vocal note (especially with Alan's reading of The Return of the Native), but I know 'Tess of the ...' had a sad ending. Anyway I'll be watching and if it is like his other performances, I'll be rewatching too. :)
