Subject: replace the eyebolt
In reply to: Greg Gisler 's message, "Bobstay fitting" on - Thursday - 09/22/16 - 11:52am

Most important would be the bolt because you can't see what is going on inside there. 1/2" x 6". If you can't find eyebolt no problem, can be a regular hex head. The hole there is for better mooring instead from a line though bowsprit. You can manifacture the rest , which mean you need to find a welder for stainlessteel. No big deal. Any rigging company can make you the wirerope with fittings and turnbucle , though an old sailer told me that would be better if it is chain instead of wire because you can climb from it if you forget to drop the ladder or fall accidentaly. The video shows some of the pieces . Good luck, Ardi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J0R9ZPUNqc

The bobstay cost me about 100 dollars ( wire, ends and turnbucle ) . "Annapolis rigging" or "Chesapeake rigging" if I remember right. Just like Doug says, I did it next size bigger. It is better so.
