Subject: Rudder Repair

Greetings from NC,

Just hauled Halo M32 #42 out for some fall maintenance and have some concerning areas on my rudder seen here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1guPHuZuE8AV4xfscXLibGZMKy6oJ_SSF/view?usp=sharing

Are the rudders typically Fiberglass over wood construction?

Any suggestions on a suitable repair?

I was thinking a thickened epoxy putty once the wood core has dried out.

Best regards

All wood rudder. If there is no major splitting and the rudder rods keep it tight against the rudder stock, you're golden.

Best,
Bill
