Subject: wood mast

I was wondering if anyone knew where i can get 2 new mast made anywhere near the san diego area. its for a 31' mariner ketch. I was also wondering if anyone knew approximately how much that would cost. thanks

I just ordered lumber to fix mine from Public lumber in Detroit a 1x8 for 4.67/lf. I am sure being on the west coast you could find it cheaper, there are lots of books on how to build your own...just a thought

Go with aluminum masts - you should be able to pick up some salvage masts and booms that will work - call around to local boatyards to get leads. You will not regret it. You will save yourself lots of weight aloft and maintenance headaches. Salvia has aluminum masts and it is a significant upgrade...
