Subject: Check your wire
In reply to: Gordon 's message, "Alternators" on - Saturday - 08/19/06 - 1:51pm

Hello Gordon
Got your email. Congrads from Chris and myself. Check your wire to ensure strands are not broken. If wire is ok and you want to increase amps, go to an auto parts store with your old alt and exchange it for a high output delco one wire alternator. I'm replacing mine with a 100 amp alt.

Yes!!! That was it! The Delco is a two wire both wires were hooked up - and it's always been wired that way. The #1 wire stopped the alternator from providing charge. Disgarding that, made it work! - Thanks for the advice - how your boat coming?
