Subject: NEW REVISED (and CHEAPER!) Edition of My Crash Book

Hi everyone!

I've just completed work on a major revision of my study of the February 3, 1959 plane crash which took the lives of rock and roll stalwarts Buddy Holly, J.P. Richardson, Ritchie Valens and their pilot Roger Peterson...

I've paid close attention to all of the reactions of my fourth installment in my research on the '59 Winter Dance Party. I LOVE to hear the good, but I also try to be mindful of the so-called "bad", too. And while the majority of the feedback I received was very positive (notwithstanding the inane and minor flap over my choice of book title...Quick, someone grab me a TYLENOL! LOL!), there were issues pointed out to me that I really wanted to take a stab at making better.

Starting from the top, the big and understandable gripe with all of my published writings on this GAC tour has always been the pricing. Not everyone can - or wants to, for that matter - spend up to one hundred dollars, give or take, on a privately published book. Over the years, my prices have see-sawed as I've gone from one printer to another, all with the hope of being able to offer a lower price to my readers. With my families recent move to the Midwest I redoubled my efforts to find more affordable printing without having to sacrifice quality. I'm happy to say that I have now found a printer that seems a perfect fit for the type of research books I write. The new revised edition of "In Flanders Field" retails for 40.00. That is a HUGE savings from any other pricing I've been able to offer in the past.

So, what do you get in a new edition of this fourth book?

- A higher page count...The new edition weighs in at 321 pages on a nice glossy paper!

- A full and complete index! This has been sorely lacking in all of my books, but it was particularly grating for myself to not have this in a book as dense as "In Flanders Field." I've personally gone through each and every page and the end result is a thorough indexing that I am very proud of!

- I've added an entirely new fifteen page section to the book which details my search for the mysterious "Mr. Bryan" who was the on-duty tower operator at the Mason City Municipal Airport in 1959 and who had the last known radio contact with Roger Peterson in those crucial minutes leading up to the crash. I might add that this was originally written and researched by me for friend and fellow Holly researcher Rod Jordan for a book on Buddy Holly that he was working on for some time. For personal reasons, Rod has decided to put this book on the back-burner for the time being (hopefully not permanently, I might add!) and was gracious enough to allow me to use a piece I wrote exclusively for him for my own independent research. Thanks a million, Mr. J!

- I'm proud to feature a new interview with a February 2, 1959 WDP attendee who had a one-on-one meeting with Jerry Dwyer in April of 1959, just a few months after that crash. His story is intriguing and offers a closer look as to Jerry Dwyer's thoughts and feelings on the crash so soon after the tragedy.

- I have incorporated a newly found interview with Sheriff Jerry Allen which sheds new light - some may argue that it actually muddies the research waters even more! - on the plane crash.

- I've edited in from my quarterly WDP newsletter a closer look at a long discussion Kevin Terry and I had with Jerry Dwyer in which he candidly discusses the plane crash.

All of the above for 40.00...WHEW! Already have a copy of the first edition and are on the fence about ponying up for a new one? All fans who bought my prior edition and who decide to buy the new one will receive a FREE one year subscription to my WDP newsletter! Already a subscriber? Consider the fees for Year Three waived! This is my way of saying "thanks" to the incredible group of fans who have long been so supportive of my efforts to research the 1959 Winter Dance Party tour!
