Nice to hear from you, happy Hollydays to you and your family.

In an earlier thread on this topic, right after the "discovery" was announced, I speculated that this was likely
nothing more than a copy tape of already heard and released material that some well meaning fan of MEH had sent her.

I know there are those that consistently defend MEH no matter what, but to me, the shock isn't that Mr. Difford is not an expert. It's not really a shock at all, but continuing disappointment that MEH is not more aware of Buddy's musical legacy, and more proactive in regard to protecting and enhancing it.

Protecting it, would, for a start, involve the prevention of
the overdub travesties by the Picks, and finding far better ways to monetize the Holly catalogue without the questionable tampering of the recent symphonic overdubs.

Even if it can be argued that some of these "projects"
were beyond her reach, she could at least have publicly
commented, if not in the full negative, then at least to remind everyone that the original releases are still the classics, and for the most part have become classics because of the musical integrity and simplicity of the original recordings.

Could she not also, on behalf of ALL Buddy Holly fans, demand definitive answers about the destruction or survival
of the original Clovis first generation master tapes?

What about the approval, after all these decades,of a second
grittier and more realistic movie portraying the early touring days, perhaps concluding before Buddy and Maria Elana met. This would be a compelling film if cast well,
and would relieve MEH of any concerns as to her portrayal.

It would be wonderful if such a film could debut to coincide
with the opening of the amazing Buddy Holly Center for the performing arts.
