Peter and Dan, yes that was a clear possibility that the whole herding crew was in town, although perhaps El Paso was a bit off the beaten track for all that. However, that still doesn't clarify why Marty thought he had done a foul evil deed. As to the rhyming thing, well songs don't always have to rhyme, and sometimes are spoilt by to great an effort to rhyme, as perhaps in "Big Iron".
And Aaron, you're taking this essentially frivolous discussion WAY too seriously.....
