Blaming Petty for generally everything is the default Holly fan argument and rebuttal but I personally don't believe it. If any of you have read other music biographies I agree with C.W., this was normal practice and is still going on today. Without Norman's efforts and contacts not many of the musicians who went through Clovis would have had any musical career. It is refreshing to see the Big Beats acknowledged this.
