 That might be J.P's guitar strap, but it's definitely not the guitar J.P used for pretty much his whole career, and also on the last tour. The guitar in the linked photo is a Gibson J200, which Dion had most likely purchased himself (possibly at Manny's, where Buddy bought his last Fender Strat). Perhaps it was only J.P's guitar strap that was given to Dion by Teetsie, and that information got lost over the years? I've never seen any evidence of J.P owning a J200. I've only ever seen photos of him with the Gibson LG-3.
