Ritchie was more of a rhythm guitar player, but he was still developing as a musician and could certainly play some 'cooking' lead parts and links.
But he mainly played Rhythm, and of course he had Tommy Allsup playing the lead for him on the WDP tour.

Its such a shame how we never saw how far Ritchie could go. He would only have turned 20 in 1961 and would have been only 25 still in 1966, and 28 in 1969 at the time when Hendrix was headlining Woodstock. Would Ritchie have been on stage with him? I think so. I think he would have grown his hair long, or at least longer, to suit the times and fashion. Would he have got into Drugs? Hmmm, not sure. Apparently he wasn't pleased when some people smoked weed in his presence...so maybe it wouldn't have been his thing?

He was a good kid, wasn't he?
