There is a difference between toleration and acceptance. We dont for acceptance on people, or in other words, we dont make you like it. However, toleration is the act of allowing something to take place, even if we disagree with it. There are many things that I disagree with that go on, but I tolerate the existence of it.

Example: pornography. Personally against it, yet I recognize that just because myself, and many other people disagree with it, we do not have any justificiation for banning it.

I think people should be at least educated about things. At least in that way, if they choose to agree with it or not, at least they can do it with facts instead of hearsay.

There are many things people are uncomfortable with because of lack of information. A great example that i'm sure you would probably argue for is Christianity. Why do people go out and go on missions and go out and do other things. To educate people who may otherwise be suspicious or afraid of it. The same could be said about other religions as well. Many people are afraid of or uncomfortable with islam, mainly because they go by hearsay and are not educated about it. Heck, there are people who say we didnt land on the moon and say the holocaust didn't happen, and i'm sure dispute other things because they aren't educated, thus they dont understand the why about it. That is a major factor with people being afraid of uncomfortable with things. Is it the only factor? of course not. Nothing has a single cause, but it is a major factor nonoftheless
