Would you lock your child in the basement to discipline?

What do you think will take place with this kid and his psycho mother? I am not sure if she is abusing him really. I think we are going to find out that he is indeed hurting himself. I do think that it is a little strange that he is being locked up in the basement to do homework. I think the kid is going to flip and kill his mom. I think his mom's over attention to perfection and driven him to the breaking point. What will happen next week? :-)
