I've always found the writing to have a bit of a comical cheesiness, but that's why I watched it. There was an absurdity that made it worth watching even if I was making myself anti-social, and that keeps me coming back just to mockingly say, "oh no you didn't!" One of the reasons this show has stayed on was because of the superb cast (which also happens to be why I keep watching it ;P ). However what you've been saying is right. Friday is where Fox shows go to die.

Now I'll return to another show which I think is starting to slip. I won't tell you what it is, but I'll tell you that it's Wednesday night, and the show isn't The West Wing or Ed (I don't even watch those). As for Melodrama High--I'll keep watching it.
