The live Journey performances were different in alot of cases compared to the originals. 'Lights' original was so much slower than any of the other recordings or live performances that I've heard.Now when I hear the original 'Lights', it doesn't sound right to me! Same with 'L,T,S.' I have heard a few different versions of this. I especially like the version on their Greatest Hits Live CD.I guess when you play and sing the same songs over so many times you have to mix it up a bit so it doesn't get boring.
I agree that the Strange Medicine band did an awesome job on the Journey songs.Close your eyes and you can't tell the difference! Steve picked an excellent group of musicians, goes to show you he doesn't need Journey!
