I really wish that Steve Perry would surf the internet, and see how many webpages are dedicated to only him. I would bet that he is aware of a few. I honestly don't think that Steve's last cd was marketed at all. I talk to people all of the time, that have no clue that he even toured back in the 90's. They are always bummed when they realize that they missed him. Steve Perry was the voice that brought Journey to a level that is hard to achieve. If you were to ask a normal person on the street if they know who Journey is, I bet that they would at least know Steve's first name. I would bet that is probably the only name that they could remember.

I do think that there is a true magic with a song written by Jon Cain and sang by Steve Perry. Steve has some beautiful songs on both of his solo albums, but in my opinion they did not have the chemistry that made the Jon Cain songs come alive. I am in no way saying that Steve Perry isn't a awesome song writer, but for some reason that combination has been untouchable. Honestly, I would love to hear him sing something by Diane Warren. If that one didn't sell out Titanic, I bet that it would be close. God, the man has such a gift. There are few people in popular music that can even compare.

I will do my best to harrass the music stores and radio stations, to stock and play Steve Perry's solo stuff. If he just had something new and big, it would give us loyal fans something better to run with. I am a big Street Team supporter. It seems to have done wonders for Bon Jovi's new cd. Personally I think it may be one of their weekest. Yet, they have a huge Street Team of loyal fans, and they give them incentives to call MTV/VH1 and any other medium. Didn't they debut at No1 on the Billboard Charts? Something like that, and the newest is their biggest selling cd to date. Please don't quote me, because I am just running off of memory.

Anyway, if Steve decides to remake a damn toilet paper add song, I would buy it and promote the crap out of it!!! It is hard to get people excited about someone who is hiding. Ok that is just my opinion, and I hope that I didn't babble on too much. Steve, please share your gift with the world again. We miss you and that voice!!!

Take care,

Tracie
