Yes it does and that's a good point, but taking that into account, what were the alternatives? It is still conjecture to say we went to war to gain sway over those oil reserves. But even if it wasn't conjecture, if it was absolutely true that one of the main reasons for the war was to allow easier access to the reserves, do you think that we should have left Saddam in power just so we could uphold our moral purity in regards to oil business? When you take out a regime such as Saddam's and must rebuild I don't know how you can't expect the rebuilders to get a little inside track in business and such, it is just the way the world works. Iraq even wants it to some degree. News reports say many Iraqi citizens were very excited when Japanese soldiers were sent to Iraq to help rebuilding because it means Sony won't be far behind. Now I'm not saying global corporatization is good, but the way I look at it our other alternative was to let Saddam continue to brutally rule Iraq. If people are upset with the fact that we might stand to gain something from this in terms of oil then I think they should protest but not driving anymore or something. Until then I can't take the oil claim seriously because it just seems to be something to conveniently slap on Bush to make him look like a selfish tyrant.

>Where we get our oil from at the moment makes no
>difference at all, the fact is that most of the worlds
>oil is in the middle east so we can now obtain it for
>the future. Don't you think that the current situation
>favors our chances of getting oil as compared to when
>Saddam Hussein was ruler?
