let's forget the oil and the infamous WMD. I've done my share of preaching (bitching) about all these conspiracy theories. If i read everything correctly, i have to agree with fishtail. option A - leave saddam in power and do nothing, option B - end the regime and take the dictator out of power (and subsequently gain other favorable economic benefits). I am probably jhust restating the obvious but personally, as much as i am opposed to resolution by force, I would have to go with option B. Now, were the reasons which the US based their decision to go into the war the best? No. Had the bush administration waited for the slow but eventual UN and rest of the world's support to enter Iraq, I think the outcome would be looked upon alot differently. In my opinion, America's largest fault was the acting on assumptions of unverifiable intelligence and trying play hero to the world. and we all know what happens when we assume . . . (i think there is some phrase about that or something.)
