i don't know if this is directed at the minset staff or not, but i used to be . . .

i don't know about a-religious, thats a pretty bold statement. . . i mean "punk" and "metal" are only the style of music that the marketers and consumers have catagorized the band into for description sake. I don't see why a band can't be religously based and still be considered punk or metal. They just have to work harder to overcome the stigma that has become associated with those genres. Also, as with everything, balance is key. No one wants to be endlessly preached to just an no one wants to only hear whiny emo guys only talk about his lost everytihng over and over again.

Personally, I am not one for instructive religious music on how to live a fuller and more meaningful life through Him - at least not through the music i choose to listen to. But then again that is not to say I am completely against bands having underlying religious elements and beliefs.

on a quick side note - does anyone remember that power of god show about 10 years ago where big ol' musclemen preachers would break bricks with their head and then preach how god gave them the power and courage to do that . . .

>so what do you guys think of christian bands? more

>punk, etc. should be a-religious? if you were a
>metalhead and a christian metal band came out that
