Hi Leslie,
Thanks so much for your reply! She is 21, and I'm not sure about the ACTH blood test. She's been off of the steroids for 1 1/2 years, so do you think she should still have the blood test, and would she still be experiencing chronic fatique this far out after stopping them?

I just don't understand the apathy that I hear from people about the affect that steroids have had on their bodies. I mean, doctors dispense this stuff like candy without any warning to what it will do and now that my daughter's body is devastated, we're just supposed to accept it?? I'm just frustrated and angry and someone should be held accountable. The FDA needs to hear from everyone who's affected and get the risks CLEARLY disclosed on the form given out with the medication at the pharmacy, and the doctors need to make sure that every patient understands the risk involved. Then, the patient can take on the risk after having made the DECISION to...INFORMED CONSENT is a basic right that is up to the patient, not the doctor if he decided the benefit outweighs the risk...it's not their bodies that are devastated in the process. Thanks for listening.
