Ivy:
I am glad I found this site. It has helped a lot to know I am not crazy. I just feel real bad because my problem is so miner compared to all the rest of you. I feel bad for complaining. I do feel very lucky that edema is my only problem considering how much prednisone I would take some days.
On the prednisone, I would take as much as 200mg in a couple hours to try to stop the allergy relapsing. It starts at my eyelids and is very painful. When this allergy problem started I had a hard time because I was not home a lot and the fancy doctor I had would not help, so I was in a lot of ER's around the country.
As for the test. A lot of natural healing books use it to help you figure out if your adrenals are messed up, but not quite the same as you described. You lay down for ten minutes and get calm, take you blood pressure while still laying down, then jump up and take it again right away. If the adrenals are working your blood pressure should go up. Mine does not and sometimes it goes down. Another problem I have is I use to drink a couple cups of coffee and it was a couple trips to the bathroom. Now I can drink a lot of anything and nothing comes out. I am a slender person to begin with so this is where I think my problem with the docs is. They just flat will not look at any of my records I bring with me and just look for something else. The last one wanted me to come back for a $200 allergy shot. My allergies are not that bad. I believe docs are not much better than a scam artist because they say they will help then you get there and they will not help with you complaint, but take your money. The eucalyptus will kill me, so I can not go to California ever again.
I sit at home and call different doctor offices from time to time and ask if they can help. I tell them my whole body is water swollen and it's like I am the only person in the world with this problem. I have learned water goes to the warmest places, so if you sleep on one side more than the other that explains the sags on one side and not the other.
Sorry if this is a little scattered, but sitting down is when my breathing gets more difficult.
Thank you for listening. :)
