Subject: Where to begin...

As I write this, I am down to 10 mg of prednisone, FINALLY! I dropped yesterday, after MONTHS on 12.5...The long time between drops was caused by so many things: tooth infection/extractions/surgeries (oh that is another story LOL), migraines that were/are unexplained, muscle wasting that we THOUGHT was caused by the plaquenil which HELPS the prednisone (LOL...I was NOT lowering without SOMETHING!)..oh the list goes on...so we waited each reason out. Finally when we figured out that it wasn't the plaquenil, but the PREDNISONE that is causing my muscles to vanish, my rheumy and I figured it was time for me to make the drop to 10. LOL...here's the kicker...a few days before I was to drop, my knee started REALLY hurting! So I went to the orthopedist, and he thinks I MAY have a STRESS FRACTURE! LMBO! Sigh...One more reason to lower the pred! I get an MRI on Monday to see for sure, but until then I am keeping as much weight off it as I can (when I keep all weight off it, my leg gets ice cold, so I use minimal weight). I am a bit of a mess, but trying to keep busy! :)

I will be moderating a support group online for adolescents that are living with Lupus, monthly. I will also be raising funds for the Alliance for Lupus Research, working on a committee, come the Fall...along with working on my book, and MAYBE have something else in the works (keep your fingers crossed ;-) ) :-D

Lots of love and hugs to you guys!!

~Ivy~
