Subject: asthma alternatives?

Ok...The air quality stunk here for a couple of days due to brush fires in flipping GA (I am in S. FL). Due to this, I am having trouble with my breathing. I have been doing nebulizer treatments every 4 hrs when awake (and my breathing even woke me up during a nap yesterday which NEVER happens). So far I have not bumped up my prednisone, but I don't know how much longer I can take this...for those of you with asthma, how long does it usually take you (when not bumping up on pred, to get better? This is really making me nervous (which is NOT good either).

Thanks for any help!!

Ivy
