I have added teeth to my list of things dissolving in this "incredible shrinking woman"!!!!! I had a front upper tooth start dissolving on me. In fact, I was at the dentist Wed. to get it fixed! The dentist told me my teeth were very "soft" and I had lost alot of calcium from them. All of the inhaled steroids that were not "supposed" to have any side effects has taken a toll. I was talking to a friend (and fellow asthmatic) and she has developed the same problem with her back teeth. Even rinsing your mouth after doses can't control the problem over years of treatment. I'm not surprised, if steroids can cause a portion of the radial bone in my arm to disappear, why not my teeth too?!.
As to dentures, only you can make that decision. Personally, I am going to fight to keep all the body parts I have left! I refuse to conceed anything else to this stupid drug. I take that back; there is one thing I would give back: the bags under my eyes that have "appeared" after loosing 30 lbs of steroid weight! You have to decide what is best for you because steroids plays havoc with each of us differently. I wish you well in your decision.I'll keep you in my prayers.
