I have had all of the side effects you mentioned from the steroids, plus many others, but I have not noticed any related to caffeine, because like I mentioned, I try not to have any unless I have a headache.

Steroid side effects can be VERY difficult to handle/come to terms with! The good news is that they DO GO AWAY! I don't know your situation with steroids, but if you are able to get off of them completely, or at least stabilize on a low dose, all those miserable side effects will eventually lessen and go away completely! I know it doesn't seem like it now, but it is true...

I have been on and off steroids for 5 yrs now...on them full time for about 2 yrs. The side effects from constantly having to raise and lower the doses of the prednisone/solu-medrol really took there toll on my body and my mind. I was totally disabled for 1 full year, where I was in a wheelchair with steroid myopathy for 3 months before graduating to a walker and then a cane for another 3 months. I also fainted about 1-2 times a day after urinating or eating, while weaning down on the prednisone. I am currently on 6-mp (which is an immunosuppressent/chemo drug) which helps me lower my dose of the prednisone without as many of the side effects (such as nausea/vomiting/fainting). I still get crippling pain for about a week when I wean down even 1 mg. I am at 8 mg right now, and am planning on lowering my dose to 7 mg in a couple of weeks.

Please do not be shy about sharing on this site...we understand better then anyone what people go through living with this drug. Whatever you feel comfortable sharing is ok by us!

Thank you for sharing what you learned on line!! I'm sure the heads up will be heeded by many others on here!!!

Ivy
