Heide,

I emailed this to you as well...

I just read your post on the board...I am so sorry that you endo scared you like that!! If he is not used to having people on this drug, then you should find another doc who is more knowledgeable. It is a scary drug to take...but from what I have been told, as long as you keep on top of the blood work you should avoid any long term complications. Being on such a high dose for any length of time of the prednisone is dangerous too. From what you have told me, you cannot lower the prednisone dose or your symptoms flare up...that is the whole reason to take a STEROID-SPARING drug. I understand you fears, and his...I was really freaked out about taking it too...but it has helped me so dramatically that I don't even want to think about where my life would be without it. I am actually down to 7 mg of pred right now without ANY flare ups ...just the normal achy feelings, but after only 4 full days, I am feeling much better tonight. No one ever really thought the med would help me either...but it honestly has. It is a horrible choice to make...but I think you are smart enough to do your research, and know your body!! I am here for you no matter what you decide!!!

Sending you much love/hugs/prayers!!!

Ivy :)
