Susan,

I am sorry I couldn't be of more help! I do know that Leslie of off of steroids completely, so maybe she has some ideas about kicking your immune system into gear.

I do not have typical "asthma". Mine is caused by an inflammation of the vegas nerve. Before the prednisone/6-mp combo I would be exposed to a trigger (cigar smoke/brush fires/cleaning chemicals) for just a second and BOOM, my throat would swell shut/vocal chords shut/pretty much my entire upper airway. Turns out that the real cluprit was that nerve misfiring when exposed to a trigger. These meds seem to keep all that misfiring in check, because it was all autoimmune related. So desensitization would not work for me...but I REALLY apprecaite the thought!! :-D

I really hope that your body starts treating you more nicely!!

Ivy
