Subject: Class of '66

I returned to teach in the English department (in fact, inheriting Bud Stillman's room, desk and the big oval table, as well as the famous Stillman Paper Library) seven years after graduating from Scarborough. Before then I earned two degrees in English, and after teaching for four years, often alongside such former teachers as Mrs. Creighton, Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Zades and, of course, Coach Simons, moved with my wife (on the Lower School faculty) to the UK, where we lived for five years and where I began my writing career.

We returned with our dual-citizenship daughter (now 26 and in the music business in NYC), and since then I've been a full-time writer. I've published five novels both here and the UK (under the name J.P. Smith), and have worked on screenplays, as well.

I attended the reunion of a few years back and was very happy not only to see former colleagues from the faculty, but to spend time with many of my former students, now parents in their own right, all of whom I remember with great fondness. Hope we can all do it again some day.

There is a Yahoo Scarborough Group, by the way: <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scarborough_Reunion/">http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scarborough_Reunion/</a>
