Subject: I too was disappointed with this ep, but I think from a Harm standpoint I see where it was leading....These eps were filmed back in February, so CB could participate in the finale. At this time, DJE was re-negotiating his contract for S9 (CB apparently was already under contract for S9)..& according to Kip, things weren't going all that well. Inside for the rest....

I'm not going to get into a he said/they said on the contract....DJE wanted more money (hey who doesn't, LOL) more than DB wanted to pay, and they were going back and forth. I think things MAY of gotten to a point where both parties felt an agreement may not be reached, and DB filmed the finale with the possibility of having no DJE/Harm for S9....

Things were set up where Harm would die (the plane crash) if DJE didn't re-up, and along those same lines it was indicated that things might happen between Mac and Webb also *if* DJE didn't re-up.

It was said yesterday that S9 opener (if no DJE) would've had Mac grieving over Harm's grave at Arlington (this was said by Kip, would it of been true?), and then I think a natural progression would be made with Mac/Webb. SC's role would've been expanded, and I think Webb would be Mac's rock, her friend, confident, and gradually lover.

I also think this was the SHOCKER Kip said they presented to the writers...not the finale itself, but the fact that they would've KILLED Harm's character, instead of just writing him off.....

I think the writers did drop the ball on H&M, especially when Harm burst through the door, I did expect to see some kind of REACTION and EMOTION, but nothing.....

But I think the ep was written with the knowledge that DJE wouldn't be back, and that's why the focus was on Mac/Webb.

I sure hope the opener is better, for this ep was disjointed, it didn't flow, the inconsistencies, etc etc etc....I didn't expect Harm to make any type of earth shattering declaration (now that truly would've been a shocker and original, LOL), but I didn't expect this ep to be totally lacking and devoid of any M&H interaction....

Of course this will all be blamed on CB's being pregnant and DJE's contract...hey, they don't write the stories, LOL!! And I'm sorry, but you can't give any shipper moments because the arc had to be changed due to CB's condition, but you can find time to give a Mac/Webb shipper moment? Please, we've been there done that with Mic/Renee, let's NOT go down this path again!!

I do feel the finale fell flat, but I think it was because they (TPTB) truly did not feel DJE would re-sign. So, the finale was done with the premise of writing Harm's character out, and now that DJE has re-signed, I hope for a much better ep in the opener.

That is if there are fans still out there, the Webbies are ticked, the shippers are ticked, the Harm fans are ticked, the Mac fans (like me) are ticked, just cause the ep failed to deliver....

Of course I don't mean all fans, I know there are plenty who are happy and content with the ep, I am just basing my comments on what I've read on the various MB's, and to me, the majority felt extremely let down and disappointed.

There could of been a great moment when Harm burst through that door, I mean seriously aren't these two still AT LEAST BEST FRIENDS? Or did that change too because CB was pregnant and DJE's contract was up, LOL!
