Subject: Tonight's episode's title was taken from the quote: "We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another." by Luciano de Crescenzo This was the quote that Beverly used this has lead to another poem about nurses. permission to copy as long as author gets a byline....e-mail me where these go

Each of Us, Heroes

We were the women, the ladies of war
Unheralded warriors, it was a duty we bore.
In the desert, the foxholes, on seven seas an' foreign lands
We were the females who healed with our hands.

We were the young girlfriends and left-behind wives
The reasons, the whys: Of the future they fought for, some losing their lives
We read the letters for the men who were blind
And listened to stories of death and gore of mankind.
We penned the notes to the loved ones at home
For the battles to end, We prayed to the Almighty One.

We were the sisters, the mothers and aunts
Who kept fast the memories of home and the past
Who helped make sense of this unholy mess
With wisdom and strength, with this we were blessed

We were the nurses, the givers of care
Tended and bandaged the needs of valiant soldiers in repair
Forcing our smiles, hiding the hurt
We cleaned the battle mud and the dirt.
Numerous were the wounds we dressed
Tears for the lost in our hearts they kept rest

We were the lovers, the mistresses of healing
We whispered softly to the men as they laid dying
Tender words to guide them on their way
More men, more wounded, more death, another day

When duty called, we held their hands tight
Each of us Angels, guiding their souls to the HIS brilliant light
We were the women who stood by our men
We were all heroes, and as women-we'll do it again.
