I agree with you on most issues Tracy. But I think most of the blame lies with the writers and the directors and DPB himself. The writing this year has been quite weak in my opinion. DPB has alot of new writers whom he said are not familiar with the characters. I feel he should have made it a prerequisite for these new writers to get up to speed with JAG and get a full understanding of where these characters have been and given them his vision on where he would like these characters to go. They are taking characters that we have watched grow over the last 7 years and making them look petty and immature. Harm has become such an arrogant obnoxious spoiled brat in my opinion, rather than a maturing military man that should get more comfortable over the years instead of immature and annoying. The have totally stiffled Mac, and just can't seem to let her be an equal to Harm. She always has to be shown as inadequate and in Harm's shadow instead of his partner. They give her no dignity. Thus this is one of the many ways DPB has dropped the ball. Kip stated that DPB has to approve all stories and scripts before they are put into production, so he has obviously read these and approved them. So hence we go to the directors. DPB has meetings with all of his production staff and directors and I'm sure they are given direction from him. So what is the problem, either he is not giving the directors proper instruction or the directors are not following orders. I think the actors are following the direction that they are given, and if the scene isn't what was expected then they can do retakes. Personally,I feel JAG is DPB's vision and he and he alone has total control of HIS show and he has dropped the ball. I just hope that we get one more year of JAG so we can have some better stories and closure to our favorite show.
