It has come to my attention via comments in another forum that this "poem" (as short as it is) is most easily interpreted as a condemnation of poetry itself... Here is a my response to that...

As often occurs when one writes, the original intent may seem obvious to the writer, too obvious, so that writer does not see an even more obvious interpretation by the reader... until he receives comments or similar responses... (yes, one truly gifted should be able to anticipate most of those situations...)

In a previous poem someone mentioned that a "real" poem doesn't self-reference... Having that in mind, I thought of this "poem", which not only self-references, but attempts to take on the voice of the reader who sees a poem which says nothing, really, a poem which otherwise has no real content but it's own self-reference...

I suspect such has been done before, such a poem has been written, with similar intent, likely a number of times... but I decided to write this down anyway, despite that, to make sure... (; hence, the title: "Wrote".

I see the "condemnation of poetry" interpretation, now... and that is my fault, of course, not seeing it as I wrote it... (elsewhere I received a comment in which the reader had decided it was a parody of poetry condemnation...) but, well, not in the least was that my intent (except a condemnation of this poem itself...) A self-condemning poem...

I'm sorry for the implications, particularly if it offended those who put so much of their heart and soul into their poetry, both here and elsewhere...
