INDOCTRINATE FICTION. FACT?

It began with an overlord of evil, descending from the moon.
Screaming frantic children, then giggling at their lives.
Illustrated pamphlets, welcoming the Mystifier –
promising a slow death, promising demise.
A painted sky once humid-blue, now jet-black.
Orange eroded vehicles, victims of sci-fi.

On Monday reality came to bare, Live to Air: a defunct sci-fi.
Pernicious machinery smiled downwards from the moon –
the satellite of satellites now contriving with our lives.
Every station glowed forth the face of The Mystifier.
Children’s cup-cake-filled mouths choked on our demise.
Parents yelled ‘Get back!’ while their day-time-world d(y)ed jet-black.

Then there was a Hollywood denial – subconsciousness silently jet-black.
This wicked nonchalance encouraged a popularity in sci-fi
videos, and nobody peered towards the moon,
which had cameras gazing down following the lives
of newly chosen victims of a hungering Mystifier –
who viewed the camera’s visions and dreamed of some Earthly Cattle’s demise.

Now a whistling approach, a gift from the sky, shrieking closer, provoking demise.
Crashing noisily to Earth, a fiery BBQ ball scorching everybody jet-black.
It was no longer the staple routine of a sci-fi
drama, rather, a real life cuisine-creating horror residing on the moon
and some sneaking acid-breathing creatures counting off the Earthling lives,
lining up the over-done dinners for the Mystifier.

As this lunar commander conquered its meal, this ‘Mystifier’,
as the Earthlings had named, reminisced a homeland’s demise,
a loathing for technological adoration and, so, a jet-black
promise to annihilate anything that idolised sci-fi.
Working towards a mechanical reprise (including the moon)
and a universal return to farmlandish idiosyncratic lives.

“Oh, I’ve heard this pitiful song throughout my collection of lives.
My battle tune is recognised. They will not defy the ‘Mystifier’ –
I rebuke their behaviour and relish their tasty demise.
Now, my filled stomach and empty enemy cause this jet-black
boredom. So, I will procure another sci-fi
proportioned world and cater their carcasses to their functional moon.”

A final muttering by the Mystifier mocked the jet-black silence of the earth:
‘… all those sci-fi fuckers, fucking up our lives.’
Then the moon’s flashing, beautiful picture and its buckling demise.
