She took one small glance at Oscar before turning back to her "darling". The one thing about Katcha was that she very often didn't know what the hell she was doing with her "darling". One day out of the blue she just fell in love with her "darling" and purchased her, having no intimate experiences with horses besides quite a few riding lessons when she was younger. Well, her inexperience wasn't going to stop her - even if it ran the risk of not properly treating her "darling", though she shied away from that thought often - so she took up some more lessons and got to work.
At present... she was still an amateur, but at least she was a good amateur with a few tips under her belt.
Running a hand down the mare's sleek neck, she smiled lovingly into the pale golden's eyes. "You're beautiful, my darling (hence, the nickname)." She shook her head lightly at her own foolishness, and, slipping onto the slender head a halter and then attaching a lead rope, she proceeded to walk the compliant mare from the stall and onto the nearest crossties. She hummed quietly under her breath as she to the tack from where it lay on the stall door, giving Melisande a once over with a brush before placing first the pad and then the saddle onto her back.
After the girth, which Katcha always found to be a pain in the neck, it was easy putting on the bridle, tightening the throat latch just right, and grabbing her own helmet to stuff onto her head.
"We won't be doing much, darling," she said as she took the reins in hand. "So we won't bother with the extra accessories today. Maybe some other day." Clucking encouragingly, she led the mare out of the barn.
