Diego yelped as he stumbled, though he was up and leapt for the guy, teeth slamming down on his ear. He leapt off and stood between the two of them, taking a threatening step forward as he kept on barking like some wild rabid animal. The foam slowly bubbled around the edges of his mouth as he barked and snarled and he snapped at the guy, though didn't leap.

Carmine had been hanging round in the alleyway at the back, smoking pot. He leapt and spun round, startled, as he heard a scream and a dog snarling. Automatically, a hand flew to his gun, though he reluctantly pulled his hand away and darted for the apartment where the noise was coming from. He had that gut-feeling that it was Ashena. Carmine burst through the door and for a second stood staring blankly at Stan and Ash, then ran up to Stan from the back and lunged at him. Carmine flung an arm around Stan's neck and with his free hand, held the gun to Stan's head.
