The treaty was a pathetic attempt to finish the war, but all it did was put it off for a few years. It never would have worked, as all of the delegates had opposing views. Clemenceau wanted revenge, but Lloyd George knew that it would only cause problems, while Wilson wanted peace. It managed to get reparations, but what good were they when Britain had to pay more than Germany? It solved nothing. The only thing it acomplished was building the bridge to WWII. As the rage inside Germany grew, Hitler rose, and used that anger that the treaty had created and turn it against the world.
