A debate about whether or not Chamberlain is a hero or a wimp is being decided on the decisions he made 63 years ago. Anybody looking back will come to the conclusion that the choices he took were naieve and ultimetely did nothing to prevent a war. So does this mean he was a wimp, Churchill was right all along, is he the hero.

However these conclusions are being made now that we know Hitlers ultimate intensions. If we had to make the same decisions with the same knowledge as Chamberlain perhaps we may have been a little more naieve as well. Anybody who can make such a call as that is a lot braver than I am.
