but i think you'll find that one of the most widely accepted long term causes of the WW2 was the versailles treaty, in which America had a huge part to play after the introduction of Wilsonian Liberalism.

America and allies drafted a treaty so harsh to germany in order to claim reperations, they sowed even more seeds of hate. It gave Hitler the chance to play on public discontent that allowed him to consolidate overwhelming power.

Many people had even anticipated that the treaty would lead to war, evidence for this is that famous cartoon by lowe(?, i'm not sure of the cartoonist) showing a child weeping outside the hall where the treaty was signed and above him the words "class of '39"). The cartoon had predicted almost accurately when war would break out again. America had been warned at the time but it was in vain. America forged ahead with their plans like they always do.

Like in Afghanistan, and Israel, America's shortsighted way of dealing with world issues is illustrated. Instead of looking at what the knock on effects will be, they try to take a "quick fix" approach, which always seems to end in tears and even more blood shed.

Continue with this campaign of bombing innocent people in order to fish out the tiny harmful minority of terrorists, the US are giving them even more ammunition. With ever bomb dropped is a seed of hate sowed in the people and then they will turn to yet another leader like Saddam or Bin Laden
to "save them" from the west and the terrorists multiply. Yes bombing the hell out of countries where terrorists are residing seems to b the quickest and easiest way of dealing with the problem, but what about the others countless suffering people who will then turn to fundamental islamic teachings because they have lost everything and feel that religion is all they have left to rebuild and avenge?

America it seems creates more problems that it does solutions.

by the way, i never said that the US created the Taliban, I said and i stand by this point that the Taliban were only able to come to power after the US supplied them with limitless aid. Just like the new regime of the northern alliance owes their position of power to the US, so did the Taliban.
