 PROBLEM: computer turns on when power button is pressed, but there is no display, nor does the computer seem to boot up... check your processor (bent pins, broken pins, burnout) or motherboard/mainboard/systemboard may need replacing.

this is after you check all other probable causes e.g. video card, RAM, etc.
