Thanks Highlander - I know what you are saying and I think you are right. I don't usually rewrite my poems as I lose the original soul that inspired them. This poem has sentimental values for me and for some strange reason I am fond of it and just feel I am not doing it justice. I wrote it at the beginning of my writing career and my style has changed much since then. I don't want to lose the 'innocence' of the poem yet feel it is not yet finished (stylewise). I will bear what you have said in mind when looking at it again and perhaps I should leave it for a couple of weeks when I have more time and then compare all 3 versions.
