From this reader's viewpoint, it looked like Lola's a pretty good investigative reporter, if you know what I mean. I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Kate when Chuck tells Jim about Lola's concerns. It brings up an interesting point about secret identities, also. Does Hydrogen Guy disguise his voice when he's in costume, or does he pretty much rely on the mask to do it's job? If it's the latter, then it's pretty likely that a fairly intelligent reporter can identify two very similar voices. That's something I always wondered about Superman/Clark Kent. I mean, obviously, he wears glasses and such, but he's a prominent reporter in a major city. There has to be more to the secret identity than that, or not only would Lois Lane pick up on it, but most likely Luthor would as well. Since we haven't seen much interaction between HG's rogues gallery and Jim Evans, theoretical physicist, there's not much danger of them putting two and two together. You have to have both twos first. I wouldn't put it past Hans-Raoul, though. It seems like he wouldn't have much difficulty figuring it out if he put his mind to it.
The other thing about the whole Kate issue is that HG's last love ended up going off to become the Princess of Torrado. And her double is the Magenta Nightengale. I don't know how much Lola and Kate talked afterwards, but being a fly on the wall would be interesting. The way I see it, Lola is concerned about her good friend Kate. She doesn't want to hurt her, though, and isn't sure if having a secret superhero boyfriend is really all that bad. But if Jim/HG can't tell Kate about his secret identity, what else does he keep from her? And how healthy is it for one person in a relationship to have a whole other life that the other person doesn't know about or have anything to do with? And how does that relate to her and Chuck War? Is he really a superhero in addition to being a "Customs" agent? If he knows HG, and HG is keeping secrets, couldn't Chuck be keeping secrets? But maybe he's only doing it to protect her. But does she want to be protected? Shouldn't she get to decide if she wants to be protected or not? And should she tell Kate what she suspects so that they can talk about this?
I don't know what Kate thinks, but she must be starting to wonder about the "dangerous" life of a theoretical physicist.
Chuck is happy because he has a girlfriend now.
Jim is happy because he has a girlfriend.
I'm guessing that Lola will start snooping around at Chuck's apartment and start piecing things together. Maybe we'll get a Kate & HG scene like when Mary Jane told Peter Parker/Spider-Man that she had known for a long time. Maybe there's an upcoming storyline where Kate gets kidnapped or something.
