I have meatal lower only - I had ortho treatment on my uppers as a kid and they are still more or less perfect. My lowers were perfect too until I hit 17~18 (I'm now 38) and then lower anterior crowding set in and mucked up my lowers.

There is no problem with just treating one arch - as long as your ortho agrees with your assessment of the uppers.

I still might need the uppers banded for a short time at the end of my treament - but my ortho does not think it is very likely. I feel lucky not to need top and bottom!
