Hey everyone! I am 16 years old, so I hope you don't mind me posting, but I AM on the older end of the teenage spectrum...
Anyway, I started my orthodontic treatment a little over a year ago with a palatal expander and I got a mouth full of Damon brackets in October 2003. I have been happy with my progress as I started with stainless steel archwires and elastics on Monday.
The elastics surprised me because they worked so fast! I have them to correct a lower jaw that juts forward slightly. But the problem is, now that my teeth have moved back, I have an open bite. Is this supposed to happen? And how do they fix it?
And is there anything I need to know about elastics besides "wear them all the time"?
