Hi Guys,

I went for an adjustment today and my ortho said that I will be ready for debanding in 5 weeks. Great news I hear you all cry. Sadly not as I am doubtful whether my teeth will be ready i.e. moved sufficiently by then to close the remaining gap (of about 1mm) between my right 2nd incisor and canine and tidy up my overjet. I have to go back in 3 weeks for impressions to be made for my retainer then 2 weeks after this is the day of the debanding. Has anyone else been told they are to be debanded at this stage in treatment and do the remaining gaps close in time? Will there be any difference made in the 2 weeks between getting impressions taken and the retainer being fitted? If so will this have an effect on the overall results/retention of my teeth? The reason I am in braces again is that the job wasn't finished off properly last time, I sure as hell don't want to go through this again for the sake of a few more weeks!
