I joined the club this week too, and at the age of 35. My treatment is pretty straight forward, just closing gaps. The ortho has planned a 9 month treatment. I'm with you on the discomfort, after day one I almost broke out the pliers and removed them myself. Hopefully the discomfort now will pay off later when we all have nice teeth.
