hey andrew,

i had my braces off for about 6 weeks now. when i was waiting for my retainers(also about a week), i was worrying about the same problem. surprisely when you put on the retainer, it does fit although you feel slightly tight and pressure to your teeth and i can feel the teeth is slightly moving back to the position according to the retainers. then everything is fine again and make sure you do wear the retainers...

so dont worry, it should be fine.
