I admire any adult who has the courage to get braces and take a positive step--not easy to do--toward better dental health and appearance. Braces are a long road and not a quick fix.

I take it a day at a time--literally. It is too hard to think about the long haul ahead (I've been in braces a month only) and the adjustments and appliances and associated pain and suffering. But I am convinced that in the end, it is worth it, as those who are nearing the end of orthodontic treatment tell us.

Hang in there! I love your apt expression that your mouth feels like a "train wreck". I have only been at this forum about two months, but really like the folks here and the support of other adults going thru the same thing.
