My thoughts exactly. I am much more comfortable giving presentations with ceramics on and I feel that I can endure the length of treatment--estimates are only that--if it ends up longer. My orthodontist did not charge me extra for ceramics (Seattle prices are high-end anyway) and said the treatment length would be about the same with ceramics.

The thing I hate is the expander which feels like my tongue is in jail, affects my speech and gets enough food caught in it during a meal to provide a snack later. Thankfully, I am about 1/2 way thru the time this is supposed to be on. I could not tolerate having this appliance the entire time of ortho treatment!
