Actually, I'm considering myself fortunate in this area. I started with a general DDS. He was the one that got the splint therapy going. I was very impressed with him when he admitted that any treatment that went beyond splint therapy would be outside his capabilities. It is all too often that a doctor/dentist will not admit when he's in over his head, and thus do more harm than good. He and his staff are great and are really going the extra mile in helping to find an ortho. Regardless of what happens with the TMJ/braces, this dentist has made a very loyal patient in me.
